WHERE: Ellsworth Rd between Diuble Rd and Gensley Rd in Lodi Township
WHY: Culvert replacement
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Ellsworth Rd between Diuble Rd and Gensley Rd in Lodi Township to replace a crossroad culvert.
The road improvements are expected to take approximately three days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Water Resources Announces the 2024 County
Clean-Up Day Schedule

Ann Arbor, MI.  Washtenaw County Water Resources Materials Management Division is excited to announce the 2024 County Clean-Up Day schedule.

This year, County residents have access to 4 County Clean-Up Days to dispose of – or recycle – a variety of household items in a safe and responsible manner. Registration is required to attend any Materials Management service, including County Clean-Up Days. Public Works Director Theo Eggermont said “The participation at these events is fantastic! Last year we collected over a half a million pounds of material from over 1700 residents at our Clean-Up Days. Residents last year really appreciated how much the new registration process reduced wait times. We are thankful to our volunteers and sponsors that help create such a valued community service.”   

• June 15 – Augusta Township              Registration opens May 6
• June 29 – Northfield Township          Registration opens May 20
• July 27 – Pittsfield Township             Registration opens June 17
• August 24 – City of Ypsilanti             Registration opens July 15

Precise event location will be provided to residents after registration.

Registration will open 6 weeks before the event and close 1 week before the event, or when all slots are filled. Residents can register at washtenaw.org/cleanup  or by phone at 734-222-3950.

Materials will only be accepted from Washtenaw County residents.

Only residential material is allowed. Material from local businesses, government agencies, non-profits, or other organizations is not accepted.

Pesticides are accepted regardless of residency or use.

Accepted items include:

• appliances (including freon-containing appliances)
• bulky waste (mattresses, furniture, scrap wood)
• electronics
• household hazardous waste
• scrap metal
• car tire

NOTICE: Lodi Township & Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has installed a Blue Light phone on the front side of the building for Emergency purposes.  It directly calls 911 when you hit the red button.  If you find yourself without a phone and must report an emergency, please use it.  We strive to make a safer community with the help of local law enforcement. 

There is no May 7, 2024 Election in Lodi Township 
The next election will be August 6, 2024 – Primary Election

ZONING COMPLIANCE INSTRUCTIONS

-Three copies of blueprints for structures or three copies of specs of generator/solar array.

-Three copies of a site plan that must include ALL STRUCTURES on the property INCLUDING indicating distance from residential structure and all property lines. If installing generator, staking the nearest property line to the generator is required.

-Blue prints and site plans sent via mail must include a stamped self-addressed envelope and a check payable to Lodi Township in the amount of $100.00. Zoning Compliance Permit and signed plans will be returned via mail.

-If applying in person, Zoning Compliance Permits are accepted Monday-Thursday 9:30am until 11:30am. Application fee is $100.00 at time of application.

Zoning Compliance required prior to building permits from Washtenaw County.

New option added for paying Lodi Township Tax bills:

 Current full tax payments can now be made at Old National Bank (Saline Branch ONLY) at 200 North Maple Rd, Saline, MI  48176 (click for map) during the branch’s normal business hours.  Old National bank is open 9am-5pm M-F, and Saturdays from 9am-noon.  Bring the bottom part of your tax bill with your payment of check or cash to the bank. 

Lodi Township located at 3755 Pleasant Lake Road (click for map) is open Monday – Thursday from 9am-noon, open Fridays remotely in the summer.  You can always leave a check in the drop box anytime 24/7.  If you mail your check, please allow ample time for your payment to be received before the due date,
we suggest 10 days before.

Electronic payments are still an option through our website at LodiTownshipMI.org though BS&A online click to go to online payment.

Paying online with an electronic check is a $3.00 fee (payment comes out of your checking/saving account). The fee for a Visa debit card is $3.95 flat fee.  If you want to pay online with a credit card (not your checking account), the online credit card company charges 3% of your entire bill. 
Be careful and look at the charges online before you accept.

ANN ARBOR RECYCLE CANCELLED THE CLEAN-UP VOUCHER IN 2020 DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC, WE CANNOT ISSUE THE ONE TIME CLEAN-UP VOUCHERS ANY LONGER.  WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THIS CAUSES.  YOU CAN TAKE YOUR ITEMS, BUT YOU WILL BE CHARGED A FEE FROM ANN ARBOR RECYLCE.  PLEASE CALL THEM FOR INFORMATION.  

 NEW TO LODI!

If you are in a pinch and without internet and need to connect to for school work you are welcome to come to the Township and use our NEW HOT SPOT.  Washtenaw County Broadband Task Force and Lodi Township are happy to bring this option to all those in need during these challenging and changing times with remote access for everyone in need.  When using the hot spot please be mindful of business hours and use the far parking spaces by the field.

More services, all residents

On May 1, Washtenaw County Community Mental Health (WCCMH) will begin to offer services and service-navigation assistance to all county residents, regardless of their ability to pay. 

Services will include individual and group counseling, medication management, substance use treatment and recovery support, and referrals to helpful community resources.

WCCMH will offer these services to any county resident who is unable to get timely care and will serve these residents until they can be referred to appropriate community partners.
